Talk Details
At Breast Cancer Now we’ve been hosting live broadcasts for more than four years, translating our trusted health information and complex research projects into understandable content and putting it in front of people affected by breast cancer in an environment they’re already in. Dan has produced more than 100 live sessions, and led on the project since joining the charity at what was then Breast Cancer Care, so has seen it evolve from the early days of in-person recording, precariously balancing webcams, and blocking out windows, right the way through to fully remote sessions developed through necessity as a result of the pandemic. Dan will be talking through how and why the project came about, the journey and ups and downs along the way, what we’ve learnt from it all and how we’re building it into a key pillar of our digital engagement work for the future.
Key learnings from this session:
- How we built a live streaming set up using free tools
- How we’re working to understand the impact of live broadcasting
- Why we’re continuing to invest in live broadcasting even post-pandemic
