As a young fundraiser, Anne set off on a trip around Australia with nothing more than a binbag (to keep her decent) to her name. A year later, she’d raised $25,000 for Book Aid International and learned all about how to innovate to generate income. Back in the UK, she quickly worked her way to the top of fundraising strategy and innovation teams at some of the UK’s leading charities, before teaming up with Henry to create Flying Cars. Anne is an innovation and insight expert.
In this inspiring plenary, Anne will share her personal journey of failure and success, illustrating that innovation is about persistent learning and adaptation. From her unique experiences, like fundraising in a bin bag dress and living penniless for 9 months, to her years of pioneering new propositions in charity fundraising, Anne’s stories highlight the importance of resilience, community, and the willingness to embrace failure as a stepping stone to success.
This session will benefit fundraisers working in Individual Giving, Community, Mass Engagement/Challenge and Events based fundraising – anyone trying to develop supporter-led ideas for mass fundraising or engagement.
