In October this year, Asma was appointed Executive Director of tiata fahodzi, a Watford-based touring theatre company that centres British African heritage creatives. Alongside her day job, Asma is also a freelance fundraising consultant with over ten years' experience in the arts and charity sector; as a freelancer, she prioritises working with global majority artists. Asma has previously worked at the Royal Opera House and Theatre Royal Stratford East, and last year completed a masters in Postcolonial Studies at SOAS, London.
Asma is also a trustee for a wide range of arts organisations. She is Chair of AWA DANCE, Trustee and Chair of the Development Committee at Paines Plough, and Trustee of A New Direction.
