Kat Gower

Kathryn Gower (Kat) has been part of the team at Astriid since 2022, and has been living with long-term health conditions for 10 years. She previously had a 15 year career in the hospitality sector, before transitioning to the charity sector in 2019. Her work has recently focused on developing training for employers which focuses on inclusive and accessible recruitment and working practices. Alongside her work at Astriid, Kat is a patient advocate in Wales and is an active member of the co-production group “live well with long-term conditions” within Cardiff and Vale Health board, working alongside the health board to co-design documents and policies around effective healthcare pathways, one of which has been adopted by the Welsh Government. She is also a critical friend of Aneurin Bevan health board and utilises her lived experience of living with energy-limiting conditions to support the expansion of adferiad services.
