Lucy Scanlon

Bio

Lucy Scanlon is a co-founder and director of Roots + Wings, a strategic consultancy for charities.

As well as a decade of experience as a fundraising and communications professional in the charity sector, Lucy has personal experience of being a grant-maker. A couple of years ago, she and her sister set up a Donor-Advised Fund to honour their parent’s commitment to social justice by donating in their memory. As a fundraiser turned grant-maker, Lucy is passionate about sharing the process of developing Giving Principles, which guide thoughtful and conscientious giving. Lucy has a Certificate in Fundraising from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and was selected as one of the 25 under 35 by Civil Society’s Fundraising Magazine in 2018. She is a volunteer for Totnes Climate Hub, a community-based response to the climate and nature emergencies. Outside work, Lucy loves wild swimming, reading and exploring Devon in her camper van. She plays double bass in a local orchestra and 1 sings in a choir.
