The charity sector is always the area I knew I wanted to work in and since I was young I held leadership charity positions in school and all throughout university. After graduating university I began working at Comic Relief in their Schools Fundraising Team and following that worked at Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust initially starting out as their fundraising officer which covered Individual Giving, Facebook Fundraising, DIY Events, Legacies and In Memory. After a year I realised that my interest lies in the Legacy and In Memory sector and have spent the past 3 years developing in this area. In 2022 I moved to working for Refuge, where I am now the Legacy and In Memoriam Manager.
This session we will be joined by Legacy Futures Leader Award Winners 2022 Abbie Barton and Nikita Gandhi. Abbie and Nikita will be sharing their own personal experiences of how they started their career in legacies, how they developed legacy giving within both small and large scale charities and how they managed legacies alongside other important income streams. They will also be sharing their top tips for a successful career in legacies!
