The white saviorism complex has historical roots underpinned by the colonialist structures and power imbalances that pervade the charity sector. This section will look at the history of the white saviour ideology and provide practical actions for how to reframe our fundraising strategies, language and imagery towards creating a new narrative that is more authentic and representative of the communities we serve.
