Lucy Caldicott is a charity leader and campaigner offering consultancy and project support to charities, activists and campaigners on issues ranging from strategy to operations, from governance to delivery, from income generation to communications, through her consultancy, https://changeout.org. Equity, representation, and inclusivity are at the very heart of her work. She has supported a wide range of clients and organisations with training and to implement ED&I plans. She also publishes a semi-regular newsletter discussing her work.
Until May 2022, Lucy was a Labour councillor in the London Borough of Lambeth and Cabinet lead on Health and Adult Social Care. Born and brought up in Coventry, when her term ended she relocated home to the West Midlands. She worked as Director of Policy for Richard Parker’s West Midlands Mayoral Campaign. After the election win in May 2024, Lucy took up a role as Chief of Staff for a time, helping to get his office up and running.
Lucy has worked in senior leadership positions at a range of voluntary and private sector organisations, including Young Lives vs Cancer, VSO, BBC Media Action, Diversity Role Models, and youth leadership charity, UpRising. She was Labour’s General Election candidate in Dudley South in 2019.
Lucy, as Chief of Staff to Richard Parker, the new Mayor of the West Midlands, elected in May 2024 knows what it’s like to move from campaigning to governing and also what it’s like to receive thousands of invites and requests for meetings. She’s got thoughts and she’s happy to share!
