Julian is an educator, researcher and architectural designer based in Chiang Mai. Fascinated by the creativity and natural resources of the city, over the years he has been exploring with buildings and designs that question the idea of innovation in a local context, in particular examining sustainable design and development. He has a passion for community and collaborative work, as well as participating in a wide range of local creative initiatives such as TEDx Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Design Award (CDA) and Creative Chiang Mai.
In 2019, he co-founded Weave Artisan Society, a multifaceted creative hub and cultural destination that showcases local and regional art, craft and cultural experiences. The hub also provide a platform for local artisans, craftsmen and designers to explore new ideas, and a space where they can collaborate with their counterparts.
