Simon Burton

Bio

Simon is a serial event industry entrepreneur, having created several successful event businesses. He is a widely recognised as a champion for the power of live events. Simon was co-founder the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, created to celebrate the work of entrepreneurs in the UK, as well as founder of the Football Business Awards and the Sports Business Awards. In 2020 he helped establish the Virtual Events Institute. He launched the Charity Film Awards in 2015, a project designed to showcase and celebrate the power of video to create positive social change. In just 5 years over 1,500 charities have entered their videos into the awards. More than 250,000 members of the public have voted with over 10 Million social media interactions. The awards are IMDb and BFI approved. At the start of the Coronavirus pandemic Charity Film Awards was one of the first events in the world to pivot to virtual. In his spare time Simon listens to rock music, games on his PS5, watches great TV, walks in the countryside and is miserable about Arsenal.
