Nikki Wrench

Bio

Nikki has been volunteering & working in the charity sector for over 20 years, something she became passionate about after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia when she was 15 years old.

Nikki started her career as a fundraiser at The Donna Louise Children's Hospice and has since been a Challenge Events Manager, Family Engagement Manager and Regional Fundraising Manager for the Stoke-based hospice and, from 2018-2021, The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

During Covid, Nikki founded the Furloughed Fundraisers Chat, a facebook group which brought together over 2000 charity workers from across the UK and linked them up with organisations who desperately needed volunteers to help them during the pandemic. The group also offered training and recruitment support, as well as being a space for charities to share vacancies and voluntary roles when the world opened back up.

Since May last year, Nikki has been working as a Community Manager in what she calls her "forever job" at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). She also continues to volunteer her time to support fundraisers with their development in the third sector, championing fair recruitment opportunities and practises.
